Paper: Imagine a golfer swinging a golf club at a speed of over 100 miles per hour. Also imagine a batter swinging a bat at a speed of over 80 miles per hour. The force these athletes apply on the ball with their golf clubs or bats is tremendous, and this athletic feat is not easily done. It requires plenty of practice, dedication, and commitment on the athlete’s part. However, which sport is more difficult to learn and master? Baseball, for a long time now, has been known as America’s past time. From the very beginning, it has been and still is the most popular sport in the United States especially as a spectator sport. passed a law prohibiting the sport in 1457.
Despite the passing of the law, the Scottish population kept on
playing including the King of Scotland at the time, King James IV. In 1744 and 1754, the Honourable Company of Edinburgh Golfers and the Saint Andrew’s Society Golfers became the first golf associations to be established. In 1873, the first golf club in North America was established in Canada called Royal Montreal Golf Club. The first club in the United States was in New York called Saint Andrew’s
